Why are there waiting times between Bowen moves?

Clients will notice that unlike a massage, which requires constant stimulation of the client’s body by the therapist, during a Bowen Therapy treatment the practitioner will perform a set of moves and then pause for a few minutes before the next set of moves. This is to allow the client’s body to respond. Each person is different and the waiting periods may be adjusted to allow for this. Bowen moves may stimulate the tension levels in the muscles and clients may experience different kinds of sensations, ranging from heat or cold, to twitching or tingling. Some clients may simply feel more relaxed. Once the tension level in the muscles has adjusted, the therapist will perform the next set of moves.
