If you have never had a treatment from us before please see below for some frequently asked questions.  If your question is not listed here, please feel free to give Andrea a call on 0413 620 320

Do I need a doctor’s referral to have Bowen Therapy?

No, you do not need a referral for Bowen Therapy. You simply need to make an appointment.

Is Bowen Therapy covered by Medicare or Private Health Fund?

Bowen Therapy is not covered by Medicare but if you have private health cover you may be eligible for a rebate from your Private Health Insurer depending on your level of cover. Please contact your health fund to enquire about your rebate. A list of Health funds that we are affiliated with is listed on this website.

Do you have Hi-Caps facility?

No.  We will issue you with a receipt which you can post to your Private Health fund.  In some instances you may be able to make a claim online.

What can I expect on my first visit?

On your first visit you will be required to fill in a new patient information form.  Then your Bowen Therapist will go through some of your health history with you, examine you to determine the nature of your problem and best course of treatment and then start treatment.

Do I have to remove my clothes for Bowen Therapy?

Bowen Therapy is best performed on skin, so please be prepared to be treated in your underwear.  For modesty your Bowen Therapist will drape towels over you.  If you do not wish to be treated in your underwear, please advise your Bowen Therapist and wear light loose clothing.  Jeans (too thick) and silk(too slippery) are not suitable fabrics to be worked on.

How long is each Bowen Therapy session?

Initial sessions usually take about one hour.  Any subsequent sessions are determined by your condition and will vary in time depending on your particular requirements. Treatments are usually 45 – 60 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call us as soon as possible and we will help you reschedule your appointment. By giving us as much notice as possible you are enabling us to better serve you and our other patients.

How many treatments do I need?

In most cases, initial results are felt even during and after the first treatment. In all cases, a follow-up treatment (to reinforce the first treatment) is recommended 7-10 days after the initial treatment.

Depending on your response to treatment and the severity of your injury, you may require more visits.  Certainly, after 2, 3 or 4 treatments we should know if Bowen Therapy is making a difference in your particular case.

If there is no change after three or four treatments, then either Bowen Therapy is not the right way or I am not the right Bowen Therapist for you.

In over 80% of cases – Bowen Therapy contributes to solving a problem significantly after 2-4 treatments.

Can I use Bowen Therapy for regular maintenance?

Many of my clients choose to have “maintenance” visits on a monthly or bi-monthly basis for relaxation purposes.  This is an individual choice.

I have a severe condition that requires more than 10 regular visits.

A discount applies for more than 10 consecutive visits.
