Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a doctor’s referral ?
No, you do not need a referral for Massage from Remedial Therapies SA. You simply need to call and make an appointment. Call us on 0413620320.
Is the treatment covered by Medicare or Private Health Fund?
If you have private health cover (extras) you may be eligible for a rebate from your Private Health Insurer for Remedial Massage. Please contact your health fund to enquire about your rebate.
Do you have Hi-CAPS facility?
Yes. HICAPS allows you to claim a rebate from your private health fund for most visits on the spot. In some instances you may be able to make a claim online.
What can I expect on my first visit?
At your first visit we ask you to complete a new patient information sheet. This can help us determine which treatment option is best suited to you. Please advise us of your current and past medical history. We also ask you to list any of your medical conditions.
Then we discuss any proposed treatment with you prior to commencement.
You are given privacy to partially undress and lay down on the treatment table. A towel is provided so that you can cover yourself. We adjust any towels when we re-enter the room. After that, more towels are draped over you. This is to protect your privacy and ensure your comfort. Only body areas that are currently being worked on will be uncovered.
We allow you time and privacy to get yourself dressed once the session is completed. In order to achieve the best possible outcome, we ask for your feedback and we will prescribe some stretching or exercises for you to do at home. Please drink plenty of water after your session to help keep you hydrated and to avoid any headaches.
Do I have to remove my clothes for the treatment?
Our treatments are best performed on skin. So please be prepared to be treated in your underwear. We are specially trained in draping and can discuss the options with you. Towels remain draped over you during a treatment. Only the area currently being treated is uncovered. So if you feel uncomfortable with anything please let us know. We can massage over light clothing if required.
How long is each session?
Initial sessions usually take about one hour. Any subsequent sessions are determined by your condition. These vary in time depending on your particular requirements. Treatments are usually 45 – 60 minutes. Although at times they may only last 30 minutes.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call us as soon as possible. This allows us to help you reschedule your appointment. By giving us as much notice as possible you are enabling us to better serve you and our other patients.
